Gaudy - that is the only way to describe it

I was attempting to scraplift a card made by Kelly Jo and missed the mark by a mile.

The only way I can describe my attempt is Gaudy, guady, gaudy, gaudy gaudy.

First of all I used the July Stamp of the month from Close to my Heart called You've Got Flair. I love coloring in little spaces. I used to love to doodle and then color in my doodles so I thought this would be similar. Yup, it is similar and just like all my doodles I should have left well enough alone. Then I thought it would be elegant or dignified looking with the strips of fabric. NOT!

You can't tell in this photo but I used Versa Mark and clear embossing powder for the stamp which I thought would make it easier to color in. Then I added sparkles. What was I thinking? Maybe tacky, tacky, tacky!!!
Whatever you do, don't click on the photo.
Thanks for tuning in, I think.

  1. OK
    #1 it is NOT gaudy...
    #2 I like it
#3 I clicked on the photo and it got better!
I don't know why you don't like this.
I made a card with this same stamp image today (I haven't posted it yet) and I have to say I like all the color!

  2. Actually, I think your design is quite pretty! I love the colors you've used. Perhaps if you had put the sentiment on the inside.....just my two cents! Sometimes less is more! I think you are too hard on yourself...just practice. Your stamping is fine and I love your little glittery border!! Mmmm!

  3. I really like the way you color and stamped taht image! I'm not on autoship for SOTM so I am looking forward to getting this one now!!

  4. I love coloring in little spaces too! I like coloring in spaces in my writing (when I get bored in class taking notes) and coloring in the spaces in multiple-choice tests (not so much answering the questions depending on the subject).
