I finished it tonight. This is based on the cover of Close To My Heart's Spring 2009 Idea Book. My friend, Gail, made a layout of her grandmother and was my inspiration for this. My husband helped my make my choice for paper packet. I had two paper packets I liked and this one, Emporium, won out. I agonized over using the sentiment "Captured Memories" as Gail used it on her layout and I didn't want to be a copy cat, but I couldn't help myself. The sentiment and the journaling block are from the Key to my Heart stamp set. The pearls and the organdy ribbon are contraband, but the flourish and paper and ric rac are all CTMH.
My grandmother was a sweetheart. She had two children, Robert and Elizabeth. My dad was never Robert unless he was in trouble. My aunt is Ibby to us girls, Betty to her husband and friends. Grandmommy was 4 foot 11 inches tall and Granddaddy was 6 foot 7 inches tall. Of my 5 sisters and me only one of us is over 5'2". My little sister, Lisa, is 5'6". My grandfather grew up in Kansas where his dad was the governor. He loved cars and had two Lincoln Mercury dealerships in Maryland when I was a little girl. One in Rockville and one in Silver Springs. I remember going to visit at their house when I was a little girl. My grandmother loved the color kelly green. Her sofa was kelly green and she used a green fountain pen when she wrote letters. She kept a bowl of butterscotch candies on her coffee table.
I hope you like my layout. If so you could leave a comment letting me know. Thanks for tuning in.
Leslie
