Better Than Anything Cake

I was sitting in the waiting room at the eye doctor this morning waiting for my husband and went through the Idea Book 3 times. While looking through it I found that there is an actual cake recipe in it. It sounded quite easy so I thought I would give it a try. German Chocolate cake. After it is cooked you cover it with caramel sauce, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip and toffee bits. Not all at the same time though. Check it out for your self. It is on page 33.
Thanks for tuning in.

  6. Isn't that the greatest recipe! I haven't made it for over a year, but I do dream about it occasionally! I found the recipe through Paula Deen, at least I have her version, and I know it has been reinvented over and over, but yours sounds like mine. I didn't put nuts or anything. Sweetened condensed milk is a thing of dreams anyway, but the combination is fab! I used Dream Whip instead of Cool Whip for a slightly lighter taste on the frosting. I ended up giving half away so I wouldn't grab a large spoon and proceed to eat it all at one sitting. Oh, I also seem to remember I made mine as a layer cake, I just did it one layer at a time. MMMM. I absolutely will not hold you responsible if I rush out to get the ingredients to make this and proceed to gain 5 pounds. You should also try Paula Deen's Ooey Gooey Pumpkin cake recipe. If you don't like pumpkin she has several substitutions but the cake is heavenly!
