This is a quick thank you card for a first grade teacher.
Last week this teacher brought each of the office chicks a Cadbury chocolate bar with a note attached thanking us for all we do.
I guess you have to hit me with a ton of bricks because it wasn't until half way through the day when I was talking to a bookkeeper at another elementary school that it dawned on me that the gift was for secretary's day.
The principal was at a meeting out of town all last week. I didn't know it was secretary's day and none of the other office chicks said anything about it so I don't think any of them realized it either.
The Principal and Assistant Principal surprised us today with flowers, beautiful cards and money and time to go out for lunch while they hold down the fort.
Yes, go ahead, you can be envious, I have the greatest bosses!
I will work on cards for them tomorrow night.
This card is really not in the style of the sweet and thoughtful lady, but I thought her students would get a kick out of it. I love these little monsters. I had seen someone use the googly eyes and wanted to try it. Cute huh!
I am going to get to bed early tonight.
Thanks for tuning in.

Can you tell I love making these things?
One of my favorite teachers is celebrating her birthday this week and I thought I would make one of these in lieu of a birthday card. What do you think? There are so many times that I am in my car and think to myself, I wish I had a notepad. Maybe I will make one of these just for me. I rarely ever do something just for me. I have 25 matchbook covers to make today and am putting it off since I have so much cutting to do. As a friend pointed out - Close To My Heart has a great pair of micro-tip scissors. I would be lost or in much pain if I didn't have those great little scissors. I have three pairs, so I am never without them.
Back to the scraproom.
Thanks for tuning in, AND THANK YOU ALL YOUR WONDERFUL COMMENTS. They really make me feel blessed.
P.S. I just put together another one. It takes about 30 minutes. Not bad, huh?

second post on Saturday
Inside the matchbook.
The office chicks are going together on a baby gift for the shower on Tuesday and I volunteered to make the card. I hope they will like it. The card stock and the B&T paper were used on the invitations. The guidance counselor at the school asked me to make these favors for her son's wedding rehearsal dinner. She planned a back yard barbecue/cookout. I came up with this idea of the Luau. I believe that is what she was talking about and just couldn't think of the name. She was tickled with what I came up with so I am making 25 of them. That means 25 large hibiscus cut out, at least 25 small hibiscus cut out, 25 of the grass hut design put together, and 50 palm trees stamped in two colors and cut out. The palm trees I found at Hobby Lobby. It is on a wooden block. I have only used wooden blocked stamps a few times in my crafting career so it is a bit of a challenge to me.
I am too tired to write any more tonight. Catch you on the flip side.
Thanks for tuning in.
Happy Saturday
Hi All,
Hope you are having a great Saturday. I am feeling great, for a change.
Here are 5 cards that I made for my friend at work who lost her sister several weeks ago. She had the usual cards that you get from the funeral home, but she wanted some special ones for the ministers and choir. I hope these fit the bill. She seemed pleased with them. Even showed them off to people who stopped by her desk.
I used the funeral home card for the sentiments inside and out and I didn't have a stamp that said: 'in appreciation' so I printed it on the computer. I realize now that I could have cut the sentiment out in various shapes and not all ovals. I really think I need another oval die, maybe a little more narrow. Hello Nestabilities!?!
We were a little late this year in choosing an Employee of the Year and yesterday my friend and lunch buddy, Gwen, was chosen. She is also the lady for whom I made these cards.
I am happy to say that I was in the top 4 finalists for employee of the year and that is saying a lot when I have only been there for 7 months.
I have a baby shower card to make and start on favors for another lady's rehearsal dinner/luau. I will be plenty busy in the scrap room.
Thanks for tuning in.

card to go with Drayton's gift
Believe it or not this card is beautiful IRL. The bitty sparkles look like stars in a night sky. I used Kathi Carlson's card as my starting place. The scoring was so easy with my Martha Stewart score mat. It is scored every 1/8th inch and comes with an attachment that gives you a diagonal surface. I wanted the Scor-Pal so badly, and was thrilled when I got it for my birthday, then my friend, Faye, found this one and I knew i would never be satisfied until I had one. It was half the cost of the Scor-Pal and since I have both I can say it is much better. Anyway, I just wanted to post this before I went back to work. I have a lot of work to get done.
Thanks for tuning in.

80 Baby Shower Invitations
I took this last photo to remind me what 80 invitations look like. In case anyone else asks me to make them. We have three ladies expecting and tried to get all three showers together, but couldn't get everyone to agree with the idea.
Again, I have misjudged the time it would take to make these. Three days, it took, and there are no embellishments. Once I got the match book done I realized that anyone seeing them in each of the faculty mailboxes would know right away what they are, so I knew I needed an envelope. I didn't want to run to the store to purchase them, so I came up with these matchbook covers. I thought they were pretty clever, but time consuming.
If you were to go to the store for 80 invitations, what do you think you would pay? Oh well, now I know better.
Can you tell I am tired? I still have some bookkeeping work to do so I will say goodnight. Thanks for tuning in.

Drayton accordion album and keepsake box
This is the third wedding gift I have made now. It is a 9x9 accordion album and a sturdy chipboard box with magnetic closure on the lid. The box can be made to lay flat for storage or the adhesive corners can be uncovered and adhered to make it permanent. This gift set and the other two all were made using the Silhouette Paper Packet. I believe that another person would like one of these gift sets. I hope to use a different paper for the next one or two. In fact, if my customer likes this one she will probably order another one for one of our teachers that will be getting married later this year.
I would like to think I am getting faster at these, but I figured this weekend I worked on this about 25 hours. I am making $1.20 an hour. I do hope it will boost my business. Every little bit helps.
I am working on baby shower invitations for another teacher. The invitations are for the entire staff so I am making 80 of them. Shhhhhh, it's a surprise. Another teacher is asking me to do a bridal shower take away. I asked for suggestions on the CTMH bulletin board and got a few good ideas. Right now I am leaning toward the little matchbook with a piece of Bliss chocolate inside with a message about sharing in our bliss. Something like that.
Well, it is late and I do need to get up early so I am signing off.
Thanks for tuning in,
Leslie

A friend at work lost her sister on Good Friday
My lunch partner lost her sister this past weekend. Her sister had gotten sick around Thanksgiving and had just been moved to hospice.
I really like how this stamp looks in second generation. I used it both on the envelope and the inside of the card. The B&T paper is from the Veranda paper pack.
I went to visit my sisters this weekend and had a wonderful time. I will post some photos when I have more time. Got to get to bed.
Thanks for tuning in.
