Having some fun in the scrap room this holiday weekend

Hi all who come here.
I watched a you tube video a few weeks ago by Connie Stewart about covering the little 3 X 5 inch spiral notebooks.  I use those things all the time so I had a stash of them already.  These will make nice little "thinking of you" goodies.
I used mostly Stampin' Up! products.  I still have a ton of "stuff" from being a Close To My Heart consultant for about 10 years.  I use what I have at hand.

These are so easy and fun to make.
Check out her video.  The link is below.

Connie Stewart's two minute video on Spiral Notebooks.

Thank you for tuning in.  I would love it if you left a comment or at least click one of the comment buttons below.

I'm never sure anyone ever visits here since I have been so sporadic about posting.

For the longest time I was having trouble even posting here, I finally figured out that I have to have the correct gmail account open otherwise Blogger doesn't recognize me.  Now I know.

Thinking of You card

Petal Promenade

I just love this card.  I think I have mentioned before that I copy well and that rings so true with this card.  Connie Stewart of SimplySimpleStamping.com posted this card on YouTube Connie's You Tube video and I just had to make it.  I added a few of my own touches, but the overall design is hers.

I was actually looking for a card for a friend at work who is having heart health issues. As well as praying with and for her, I wanted to give her something sweet to know she has friends who truly care about her.  I believe this card says that pretty well, don't you?

This card is made using all Stampin' Up! products except for the tiny bit of ribbon.  I am still transitioning from an independent consultant for Close To My Heart to an independent  demonstrator for Stampin' Up! .

Ingredients:
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Tufted Embossing Folder
Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper
Everyday Label Punch

Both companies are wonderful in their own ways.  They both offer beautiful papers and cardstock matching ink and embellishments, clear (photopolymer) stamps.  Stampin' Up! also has red rubber stamps that you can get with the wood blocks or you can use them with the acrylic blocks.  The clear mount stamps take up much less space and you only have to purchase a few blocks that will last you FOREVER!  Close to My Heart offers a lot of their images on Cricut and more and more with Thin Cuts - dies used on a machine like Big Shot or Cuddlebug.

If you are interested in products from Stampin" Up! let me know I will be happy to be your demonstrator.  Eventually I will have a demonstrator website where you can go right to it and place orders for products to be delivered to your door.

Thanks for tuning in.  Stop by again I will have more to show you.

Another Spring Banner and a Triple Tier Birthday Card

Hello All, This is my third Spring Banner, probably my last for the year.  I used some very old B&T papers from Close To My Heart and some other bits and pieces.  I probably could make some Summer, Fall and Winter banners since I am getting so good at making them or they are getting easier to make, not sure which.

Here is a birthday card I made for a friend who will be turning 60 in a few days. I saw a You Tube video by Dawn from DawnsStampinThoughts.net.  Dawn's Triple Tier Slider Card  Dawn is great at fancy folds and fun cards.
I used the Delightful Daisy paper from Stampin Up, a couple of flower punches, some leaves from Botanical Builders Framelets from SU, and some gems from local craft store.  The stamp set and framelets are also SU "Amazing You".

I just joined Stampin Up as a demonstrator, truly excited about it even if I do nothing more than get a decent discount on my own purchases.  I don't know much about it, but if you would ever like to order any Stampin Up products from me, I will be happy to work with you.

Thanks for Tuning In

Spring Banner

Hello again, I tried it again and was able to send another photo to my email to be able to post here.

This is a spring banner using Stampin Up's Painted With Love Designer Series Paper and some gold foil and the SU large letter framelets.

Each panel is 2 inches wide and the banner is 3.5 inches high and 16 inches long.

Oh my goodness, I am on a roll.  This is another spring banner (I know- DUH) using the Year of Cheer DSP from Stampin Up.

I have one more to make this weekend and spring will pretty much be upon us here is Sunny and Hot Florida.

Thanks again for tuning in.

Hi all, Here is a card I just made for my son Alec's birthday.  I saw one like this on What Will You Stamp made by Kim Skinner of Stamping Imperfection stampingimperfection.com and loved it.

This technique is called the eclipse technique as you raise the letters and the shadow of the color behind the letters is supposed to show through.  The stamp set is Party Pandas from Stampin Up.  I used my Misti to get a decent ink on the bears.  I think I stamped them 4 times to get a somewhat crisp black color.

I would post more if I could figure out how to take photos with my phone and send them to my email.  So far it is escaping me.  Maybe I ought to pull out my point and shoot camera and do it the "Old Fashion" way.

Thanks for tuning in.  Hope to have more in the future.

Stampin Blends Storage

I wish I were creative, but I'm just not.  I copy well.  That's what I tell people when they compliment my work.  Here is a good example.
front on view

A slightly different angle to show the top

I used Close to My Heart cardstock and B&T

Stampin Up just came out with new markers, called Blends.  They match some of the colors of their inks and papers and embellishments.  These markers are alcohol based and all alcohol based markers must be laid on their sides, not standing on one end or the other or they will dry out on the end facing up.  All the ink will run to the bottom.  Anyway, Jeanette of Stampinwithsaffieandme.com came up with this design and even made a how to youtube video.  it posted on Tuesday, I believe.  Easy Peasy if you follow her instructions.

I am so proud of the job I did on my storage box.  Hope you like it as well.

Thanks for tuning in.

2018 A New Year

Wow, it has been a really long time (YEARS) since I have posted anything on my blog. My New Year's resolution is to pay more attention to my blog this year.  Here are two cards I made yesterday and am quite pleased with them.  I used the eclipse technique

Back when I started this blog I was an independent Consultant for Close To My Heart Co. They must be in their 32 or 33 year now.  It is a wonderful stamp company.  I joined CTMH June of 2007 and fell in love with their acrylic stamps.  They don't not even sell the red rubber stamps.  They had the papers and embellishments to match their stamps.    Back when I started with them their focus was on scrap booking or memory making.  Now they are more diverse with scrap booking, card making, 3D items. They have books to help you get started making memories, Cricut cartridges that match their stamps, dies, papers and embellishments.  I love this company.

I also love Stampin Up products.  I have even gotten used to their red rubber stamps and in the last few years they have come out with more and more photopolymer stamps.  They too have all the embellishments and dies to match their stamps and paper.  The one thing I prefer over CTMH is their cardstock.  It is a heavier weight and makes 3D items a bit more sturdy.

That being said, the above cards use a little of each and then some.  I picked up foil sheets at the Dollar Tree.  I am embarrassed to say I bought 20 packs.  Each pack has an 11 x 14 up to an 11 x 15 sheet of foil card in Silver, Gold, Red, Green and Blue.  The base of the card is a generic white card from Michael's, the DSP is Year of Cheer from SU, the die cuts are Number of Years Stamp set and dies from SU and the sentiment is Snow Flurries from CTMH.

I have many many more cards to share with you and will post them as time goes on.

Thank you for tuning in and if you would comment and let me know you are out there I will be more inclined to post more frequently.
