Monster & Casey

This layout is my attempt to recreate the layout on the front of the CTMH Spring 2009 Idea Book.
My daughter, Casey, and her cat Monster.  Named after the Monster Energy Drink as he was an extremely hyperactive kitten. He loves perching on her shoulder and traveling through the house.  I feel there is too much white space on the right side of the layout and if I could find some cat paws I would try to march some up that side.  This isn't one of my better works, but it's just for fun.  I have done quite a few layouts of my oldest daughter and felt I wasn't giving Casey her fair share of attention.  Listen to me, my daughters are 27 and 25 and I am still treating them like they are 5 and 7. :-(

Oh well, thanks for tuning in.

Happy Mother's Day & a card for School Nurse

I want to wish all Mothers out there a wonderfully happy mother's day.

This week at work was Teacher Appreciation Week, it was also Nurse's Appreciation Week.  My boss asked me to make a card for our school nurse who comes in one half day a week.  It is a flower pot card with a place for a gift card to be attached.

Pretty clever, I think.  Thanks for tuning in.

SPRING Wall Hanging

I have completed the first half of a wall hanging.  It is SPRING.  The other side will be SUMMER when I am done.
This wall hanging uses regular cardboard painted around the edges with white paint.  Each piece is 4.25 by 4.25.
Please let me know what you think or if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer.

Thanks for tuning in.

sweet 16

Happy Birthday.  ~grins~
What kind of card do you make for a 16 year old girl whose favorite things are: the color green,  Disney Princesses and the show "The Walking Dead"?
My boss's daughter just turned 16 and she asked me to make a card for her daughter.  I really really struggled with this until my daughter suggested I check Google for an image.
Thanks for tuning in.

Spring/Summer Idea Book front cover layout my way

Here is a layout of my oldest daughter.  She does some modeling for a couple of the studios in town and this is one of many of the photos she has uploaded for me.  I love the layout on the front of the Spring/Summer Idea Book and here is my attempt to copy it.

Thanks for tuning in.

cards I have made

I made this birthday card for my husband's boss.  She loved it.  My camera's batteries were low so I couldn't get a decent photo of it. I forgot to mention earlier when I posted this that I got the idea for the fairy tale roses from Connie MacFarlane's tutorial found here. http://paperpleatsandribbonroses.blogspot.com/2012/04/cricut-art-philosophy-fairytale-roses.html

This is an invitation to my boss to be my guest at a dinner theater in town.  The group I belong to sells pecans every year to raise funds to take our bosses out and give out two or three $2000 college scholarships.  I copied this design from Karen Pedersen probably 4 years ago.
All these monogrammed cards are for a friend and former supervisor when she retired.  I made six cards and put them in the box below.

this is the box that held all the monogrammed cards

This card went with the gift for my friend, Betty, when she retired.  I loved this technique, I think I saw it on Split Coast Stampers.

Add caption

this was another technique that I liked.  I want to say that I saw this design on Connie MacFarlane's blog, but can't be certain.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my cards as much as I enjoyed making them.

Thanks for tuning in.

Christmas Thank Yous

Finally, my mojo has returned.  It was out playing, I think, with Lisa Stenz' mojo, or so we believe.

I haven't been able to sit at my scrap desk for any length of time until now.  I have to go back to work tomorrow so I needed to finish these up to take in with me.  Actually, two of these had been sitting on my desk for a while.

Normally, I do not like single layer cards, but time was running out and now that I see them, I kind of like them.  The poinsettias are Spellbinders dies, the flower vases are from Stamp TV, Teresa Momber's set.  Really classy.  I can think of so many great cards to make using her stamp set, Vogue Vases 2.

I need to get a batch of sympathy and thinking of you cards made  up as well as some birthday cards.  I am the correspondence secretary for our D.A.E.O.P. - Duval Association of Educational Office Professionals group and it is my job to send out cards and flowers.  I can't bring myself to purchase cards when I love making them so much.

Thanks for tuning in.  Hope to be more active on my blog in 2013.  In no way is this a resolution, just a wish.
