Magic in the Air or Love in Bloom

I haven't entered in a challenge for a long time. I saw where Nilla over at Live it - Scrap it and Curt, over at Curt's World had made cards with this digital image and thought I would give it a try. I went with a more rustic color than the pinks and reds that I was seeing on the Magical Monday There's Magic in the Air.

Herd of punkins

Here it is, my little herd of punkins. These get easier to make the more I make of them. First I would put the scallops together and then try to add the leaves and vines but this time I laid the leaves and vines on as I put the scallops together. I will take them to work in the morning and see if they stay put this time. The last herd ran off with the boss's wife. I am running out of orange card stock and need to order some more. I don't know how many more herds I will be selling off before Thanksgiving. I am thinking about a forest of trees. How can I do those?

Better Than Anything Cake

I was sitting in the waiting room at the eye doctor this morning waiting for my husband and went through the Idea Book 3 times. While looking through it I found that there is an actual cake recipe in it. It sounded quite easy so I thought I would give it a try. German Chocolate cake. After it is cooked you cover it with caramel sauce, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip and toffee bits. Not all at the same time though. Check it out for your self. It is on page 33.
Thanks for tuning in.

Does this meet the requirement

I was commissioned to make a card for my friend. She wants to send her sister a thinking of you/thank you card. The one requirement is that the card be spectacular. Please! I don't know how to do spectacular, I am just hoping it is good enough. She wanted to be able to write on the "inside". I guess this could pass for the inside. My friend's sister takes care of their mother who has Alzheimer's. They live up north and my friend goes up there every couple months and her sister takes that time to travel or take short trips to get away and rest. I thought the angels were a good touch as her sister is an angel of mercy. The amethyst card stock seemed a little on the light weight side but once I got the col. white cs on the back and started putting the front together, whoa, it is quite heavy now. I just realized that I didn't use any fibers. Oh well, some things can't be helped.

Check back later as I am going to show you what I cooked up, from the latest idea book - literally. I wonder how many of you even realize that there is an actual recipe in the book.
Thanks for tuning in.

What do you do with your rejects?

I thought this card would be so pretty, but it kind of lost something in the translation from thought to paper. I am not happy with my bow, cuz I cut the ends too short, I love the poinsettias, but not happy with the presentation on the vanilla cream card stock. Anyway, since I hadn't posted in a few days I wanted to show you that I have visited my scrap room a few times. Actually, I have made a "herd" of punkins, all different sizes, but didn't take any photos. Then yesterday I took them to work and set them on the corner of my desk and when the boss's wife came in she bought the entire "herd" as she called them. I attempted an ear of corn, but that didn't work. I will spare you that photo. I have one little bitty fella on my scrap desk that I may make some mates for and show you later. I may have to run out and get some more orange card stock before the fall season is too far gone. In case you are concerned that I have fallen off my rocker and can't get up, I prefer punkins, to pumpkins.
Thanks for tuning in and I will catch up with you later. When I actually have something decent to share.

My Pay it Forward goodies from Dawn

See what you get when you play Pay it Forward, all these wonderful goodies.
Dawn
, over at Dawn's Craft Place, and I played back in August. Check out her blog, she does really fine quality work.
You actually have a year from the date you play to send out your goodies, but she and I both got them done and out in the mail within a month. Too much gets in the way and you forget or what ever. Dawn was good, she didn't post her goodies that she was making at all. I posted mine as I made them. Only because I like posting them because then I usually get a comment or two. You know how comments make you feel and I need lots of strokes these days. I am still looking for full time employment with benefits. It has been 8 months and I am no closer now than I was then. I wish I knew the Lord's plan for me. I wouldn't worry so much. Like worrying is going to make a difference.
I have class tonight so I am going to leave this running because it will take two hours to upload these photos. Ha ha I fooled Blogger, I went to fix a bowl of cereal and when I came back my photos were loaded.
Thanks for tuning in.

can you guess what this is?

I am a most lucky girl. My friend, Dawn, over at Dawn's Craft Place sent this to me.

Do you know what it is? Check the next post. I will have another photo of it and from that photo you will be able to tell what it is. I just think it is so clever. I had to run right out and get some ribbon so I could make one or maybe several.
I have several other photos to show you, but you will just have to wait until I post them next.
Thanks for tuning in.

altered album front

Please excuse the poor quality of the photo. I took what I thought were decent photos and when I uploaded them I realized they were blurry. That doesn't usually happen and I already had the photo tucked inside the album cover so I took this photo inside the plastic. Thank you for all the helpful suggestions. As you can see I made a few alterations. I added some fake brads to the top right some flowers to the top left and bottom right, some brown punched cs and some B&T to the sentiment on the upper right and an oval sentiment on the lower left. I think I must have confused you in my last post because several people asked if this was going to be inside or on the cover. It is on the cover under the plastic. Hope you like the additions I made to the first one. Thanks again for all the suggestions. I have a much harder time with layouts than I do with cards, at least I think so.
Thanks for tuning in.

Album front

I purchase the linen albums to put my layouts in and then I put the plastic covers over them so they stay clean and fingerprint free.
I set out today to do a layout of some photos my husband had taken about 23 years ago. When I picked up my daughters album I noticed that this photo was inside the plastic cover and was upside down. I thought I would do a layout for this photo and then do the other layout I originally intended to work on. I only just got this one finished so the other layout will have to wait for another day. This was just a one page layout and I don't feel as though it is complete.
I have to admit I am a very proud mother. My girls are so very precious and my son. . . I pray that one day he will be the person I know he can be.
Back to this layout. I used as my inspiration the layout on the front of the Spring 2009 Idea. The photo is my oldest daughter's graduation/year book photo. When I graduated from high school the photographer came to the school, we all put on the velvet drapes and we all looked the same in the year book. When this photo was taken, we spent several hours at the hairdresser having hair straightened (you may recall from wedding photos that my daughter's hair is seriously curly and she hates it) and make up applied and then headed for the photographers studio where he took probably 20 photos in silk or satin drapes, leather jacket, feather boas. This was the photo my daughter liked the most so this is the one we bought. Although I believe we purchased all the proofs so I have a variety of photos, but this is the one in a frame on the wall and now on the front of her album.
If you can think of anything that would set this off or should I say finish it, leave me a message.
Thanks for tuning in.

Sympathy Card post #2

Needed a sympathy card and this is what came up. I had seen a card using similar colors the other day and wanted to try to duplicate it. I don't feel as though I even came close, but that just means I have another opportunity.
Thanks for tuning in.
